According to a report in 90Min, Arsenal have finally made a decision regarding the exit of Aaron Ramsdale.

Arsenal brought in David Raya at the start of the season and since then, Ramsdale has slowly fallen down the pecking order. Raya is currently the No 1 for the Gunners and this situation is not going to change until the end of this campaign.

Aaron Ramsdale initially wanted to remain at the club and fight for his place but now that Raya has turned out to be a success, the English keeper wishes to leave during the January transfer window.

Ramsdale is ready to secure a permanent exit but just cause he wants to play regularly, the keeper is also willing to agree on a short-term loan deal until the summer.

Mikel Arteta has decided that he is ready to cash in on Aaron Ramsdale but a move will only happen at the end of this campaign. There’s no way the Arsenal manager will allow him to leave at the start of the new year.

Ramsdale played 45 games in all competitions for the Gunners last season but this time around, he’s featured in only five Premier League games so far.

David Raya has cemented his place in the first-team but Arteta wants to hold onto Aaron Ramsdale in case there’s an unexpected injury.

Every team has been prone to injuries this season and even the Gunners have lost players like Jurrien Timber and Thomas Partey to long-term injuries. This is why their manager doesn’t wish to risk losing his backup keeper in January.

The England international has understood that he has no value left at the Emirates Stadium which is why he wants to leave ASAP but he will have to keep playing backup to Raya until May. Also, Arsenal signed Raya on a loan deal with an obligation to buy for a £27 million transfer fee and until that clause is triggered, Mikel Arteta will not make the mistake of selling Ramsdale.
