Arsenal had been preparing for eight long months in order to provide a new deal to Aaron Ramsey.

And just when the midfielder looked all set to sign the new contract, Unai Emery chose to pull the plug and withdraw the contract.

This meant that Ramsey will be out of contract at the end of the season and he might leave either during the summer as a free agent or this month itself.

When a manager decides not to provide a new deal to a player, it is more often than not someone who has been a fringe player for a long time.

But it seems, Unai Emery has gotten it all wrong about Aaron Ramsey.

According to a report, the Gunners boss chose not to provide a new deal to the midfielder because he thought that Ramsey would not be able to live up to his expectations.

Emery was of the view that Aaron Ramsey will not be able to succeed under his new style of play and my God was the Spaniard wrong.

Yes, the club have pulled the plug on a new deal but that seems to have inspired the Welshman even more.

The midfielder has been a constant feature for Arsenal this season, playing in 18 Premier League games and providing six assists.

Aaron Ramsey is high on the pecking order under Unai Emery this month, and an embodiment of that was the game against Blackpool this past weekend where the Welshman once again started in midfield despite the manager choosing to rest a number of his senior players.

And now many are hoping that the Gunners boss might reconsider his decision and provide the midfielder with a new deal before the end of the season.

Unfortunately, though, that is not going to happen since reports claim that Unai Emery is not expected to change his mind and will let Aaron Ramsey leave – either this month or during the summer.

Multiple sources have claimed that Ramsey has already agreed to join Juventus next season but nothing has been made official yet which means clubs like Liverpool and Bayern Munich still remain in the hunt.
