Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has made it clear that any player who cannot buy to his views will be allowed to leave. And it seems like Ainsley Maitland-Niles is going to be one of those men.

The 22-year-old has so far played in 14 Premier League games this season but most of these appearances came under former manager Unai Emery.

Under Mikel Arteta, the player did manage to make six appearances due to the absence of Hector Bellerin. But once the Spaniard was back to full fitness, Ainsley Maitland-Niles has been pushed to the sidelines and right now he is way down the pecking order.

And to make matters worse, the Arsenal boss has made it clear that the youngster will have to try hard in order to win back his trust.

Arteta said via Football365: “Ainsley needs to put his head down and work hard.

“Show me every day in training that he wants it more than anyone else, he wants to play for this club and fight for his place.”

And now, David Ornstein has claimed that Arteta is not happy with the attitude of Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

The journalist recently said on The Ornstein & Chapman Podcast, as reported:

“Mikel Arteta isn’t receptive to players indicating where they want to play, they would play where they are told to play for the good of the team.

“One of the suggestions I got is that he has been late for a couple of training sessions and certainly Arteta wouldn’t like that given the disciple and behaviour and respect culture is so important to him.”

Will Ainsley Maitland-Niles leave in the summer?

Ainsley Maitland-Niles is nowhere close to the first-team right now due to which there are various rumours that the youngster might be on his way out of the club at the end of the season.

The right-sided midfielder certainly has no place in his favoured role as of now and even at right-back Hector Bellerin is doing a fine job.

And while there’s every chance that he might be sold off during the summer transfer window but there’s a lot of time before the season comes to an end meaning Ainsley Maitland-Niles still has time to get back into favour.

Yes, it will be a tough job to win back the faith of his manager but a perfect example would be Dani Ceballos who has in recent weeks come back into the first XI and is now almost a regular under Mikel Arteta.
