Alexis Sanchez has officially joined Inter Milan on a season-long loan deal thus ending the nightmare for both the player as well as the club.

Manchester United wrote on Twitter: “We can confirm that Alexis Sanchez joins Inter Milan on loan until 30 June 2020. We wish @Alexis_Sanchez the best of luck in Italy.”

Sanchez was brought in to add flair and to the attacking third and the club had so much faith in him that they made him the highest-paid player in the club.

But in the end, Alexis Sanchez was easily the biggest flop that the fans have seen in quite some time – so much so that no club had been willing to buy him on a permanent deal during the summer transfer window.

Most pundits feel the Man United fans have seen the last of the Chilean as Inter Milan will obviously look to buy him permanently next year but Solskjaer has come out to claim that the forward could still make a comeback.

“I am sure we will see Alexis back. We have just got to hope that he plays regular football for a year now and then he can find his form,” the manager told Sky Sports(as reported).

“I had a chat with him and for me, if I can’t guarantee regular football for Alexis Sánchez it is better for the two of us that he goes and plays in Italy and shows us what we know he is capable of.”

A year of regular first-team football can obviously do wonders for any players but the return of Alexis Sanchez will largely depend on one factor – Daniel James.

Daniel James can operate on both wings and so far the youngster has managed to net 3 goals in just 4 Premier League games. And if he can maintain this pace all throughout the season then there’s no way that Ole will call back Alexis Sanchez.

James is young and hungrier – just the kind of player the manager wants at the club so if he can have a good enough season then it is bye-bye Sanchez.

That though will only happen if the Chilean decides to take a massive pay cut since at such a big payscale no club will be ready to take him on board.
