Manchester United lost their second game of the new Premier League season 3-2 to Brighton and the fans are already voiced their concerns about the squad and their mentality.

Despite trailing 3-1 for much of the game the United players seemed to go through the motions and they showed no urgency whatsoever to try and force atleast a point out of the match.

On the other hand, Brighton looked the hungrier of the two side and for large parts of the game, it seemed as if the home team were playing any other mid-table team.

While most of the big guns played and subsequently failed during the game, Alexis Sanchez was a surprise miss during the encounter which led to a number of rumours circulating amongst the media as well as the fans.

Jose Mourinho though was quick to clear the air and claimed that the Chilean had a bit of a problem which is why he was not available for the game and Anthony Martial took his place in the starting line-up instead.

But after the loss, a large number of fans were quite displeased with Alexis Sanchez. Not for being absent but for something that he had done prior to the loss.

During a point when a large number of United players were putting out tweets and messages in support of the team and also apologising to the fans, Sanchez, on the other hand, was busy promoting his clothing line.

Alexis Sanchez sent out a number of promotional tweets hours after Man United lost to Brighton which rightly received a fair bit of backlash from the United faithful.

The Chilean then quickly went on to delete those posts.

These types of ignorances have become quite common in modern football where footballers indulge in social media irrespective of the results that their teams might have had.

Alexis Sanchez is not the first and certainly not the last player who is going to remind us that modern football is run by money and fame instead of heart and loyalty.
