Steven Gerrard wants Filip Helander at Aston Villa

Rangers FC have so far made four signings during the January transfer window.

Out of these four, two have already joined the Gers while the other two have signed pre-contracts and will join in the summer.

And with Jermain Defoe and Steven Davis arriving at Ibrox, the Gers fans might finally see what they had been wanting for some time now.

The arrival of Jermain Defoe means Steven Gerrard has finally gotten his third striker and the manager will now hopefully start with two strikers upfront.

The Teddy Bears boss started the season with both Alfredo Morelos and Kyle Lafferty at the front but then Lafferty lost his form and had to be dropped down to the bench.

And with Umar Sadiq also not up to the mark, the manager had no other choice but to play with only one striker – Alfredo Morelos.

This also meant that all the goal-scoring burden eventually landed on the Colombian and the striker nick of picking up suspensions meant the Gers were clearly vulnerable in that area.

Gerrard will now revert back to a 4-4-2 formation meaning Alfredo Morelos will now be partnered by new signing Jermain Defoe.

And this will not only ease the burden off Morelos’s shoulders but will also help with play a better game given such an experienced striker will be playing alongside him.
