Rangers FC started the season in fine form under their new boss Steven Gerrard but with each passing week, the mediocrity of the team is coming out.

The Gers drew their last Premiership game vs St Johnstone 0-0 which means they are currently eight points behind league leaders Celtic FC.

Both the clubs have played 26 games each and they have also suffered the same number of defeats(4).

But it is the absurd number of draws from Steven Gerrard’s side which has hurt their title hopes.

The Teddy Bears have failed to break down teams when absolutely necessary and now Chris Sutton has singled out the player who is to blame for this average season.

“I blame Morelos for Rangers’ season, where they’re languishing,” said Sutton.

“Steven Gerrard says they’re here to win trophies. Why did they get knocked out of the League Cup? Morelos didn’t play in the semi-final.

“His behaviour, behaving like an idiot on the pitch at times, however good he has been other times, that’s the reason Rangers are where they are. He’s let his manager down.”

While Alfredo Morelos has scored 23 goals this season for Rangers but the player has also picked up a lot of suspensions which has cost the club dearly.

Even Steven Gerrard has spoken out about this flashpoint from the Colombian and the manager has asked him to keep his calm on the pitch or else he will never be able to succeed in the top leagues of Europe.

Alfredo Morelos just cannot seem to keep his attitude in check and if this continues for the rest of the season then surely Rangers will suffer even more.
