Rangers FC welcome Celtic in the Premiership this weekend but the Gers will be without their star forward Alfredo Morelos.

Morelos picked up a thigh injury while on international duty, forcing him to miss Colombia’s wins over Bolivia and Venezuela and now he will be out for the next couple of weeks.

The Gers manager told the press: “Unfortunately for all of us he won’t be with us on Sunday, we won’t have him back in the next couple of weeks.

“Morelos will be assessed and hopefully we can give more news after the weekend.”

Can Kemar Roofe fill the void left by Alfredo Morelos?

With Alfredo Morelos ruled out, Kemar Roofe is the obvious choice to replace him upfront and we think the 29-year-old will be able to do a decent job.

Morelos has netted 11 goals in the Premiership this season but Roofe is not far behind with nine goals and seven assists.

Roofe won’t be able to bring in the same level of talent but he certainly has an appetite for goals so if players like Ramsey and Kent can set him up then Alfredo Morelos won’t be badly missed.

Rangers are just three points behind Celtic meaning they still have time to play catchup but the absence of Alfredo Morelos will be really badly felt during their Europa League clash against Braga next week. Without the Colombian, the Gers can still pick up a win on Sunday but against Braga, it will be a next to impossible task.
