Rangers FC have been doing wonderful in the Europa League this season but this weekend all of their priority will be on winning the Old Firm Derby.

It’s Celtic who are currently sitting at the top of the Premiership table but Rangers FC are just three points behind their arch-rivals so a win this weekend will put the Blues level on points with the league leaders.

The Gers will be playing at home and Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side are undefeated in their last 19 home matches in the league. The home side have lost only two matches in the Premiership this season but it’s the seven draws that have really hurt them.

Rangers take on Braga in the quarter-finals of the Europa League next week so the manager will undoubtedly have one eye on that game and for once, there’s a chance that the Ibrox side might prioritize their European endeavour more than Sunday’s derby.

Rangers FC team news and possible rotations vs Celtic:

Van Bronckhorst made a few changes to the starting line up which beat Dundee and one of them was Filip Helander who came into defence for Balogun.

Balogun though will come back into the starting XI to partner Connor Goldson while Bassey and Tavernier hold onto their place.

James Sands played alongside Lundstram played as the two deep-lying midfielders against Dundee but for the Old Firm Derby, Ryan Jack is going to return.

Aaron Ramsey was outstanding at Dens Park and we think he has done enough to secure a place in the side for Sunday’s all-important tie.

Scott Arfield should also be making way for Joe Aribo in the No 10 role but the absence of Alfredo Morelos will be a big blow for Rangers FC.

The manager has confirmed that the striker will be ruled out for the Old Firm Derby after he picked up a thigh injury while on international duty.

“Unfortunately for all of us he won’t be with us on Sunday, we won’t have him back in the next couple of weeks,” said the manager, as quoted.

“Morelos will be assessed and hopefully we can give more news after the weekend.”
