Alfredo Morelos has been the go-to man for Rangers during the past two seasons but there are increasing fears that the Colombian could be on his way out of the club.

A number of big European clubs have been linked with a transfer for the striker and with the transfer window open until the 2nd of September, there is still a big chance that Alfredo Morelos could be offloaded.

But speaking about this possible exit, Ian Durrant has predicted that Rangers will not be able to win any silver if they decide to offload their biggest asset.

“It’s everything[keepng Alfredo Morelos],” the former Rangers assistant manager said(as reported).

“For both sides of the Old Firm, and if you look at Aberdeen with (Scott) McKenna, it’s important that any team keeps their best players.

“Rangers are going for everything this year now. They are in a good place in Europe, second behind Celtic on goal difference, and Gary McAllister was saying they have a squad to compete on all fronts.

“If you are going to win things, if you are going to win leagues and cups and have a good run in Europe, you need to keep your best players. Morelos is a key factor in that.

“The manager was saying there might be a bid coming in for (James) Tavernier or Morelos so he will be wanting to fend that off and keep the strongest squad as he can.

“Hopefully it will be quiet and Rangers can keep him because if Rangers want to win things, they will need Alfredo Morelos this year.”

“It will come[the Colombian’s goal vs Celtic]. He’s a class player and I’m sure he will get the opportunity.

“He has had a few chances over recent times but, knowing him and knowing his personality, it’s not something that will worry him. If he has the proper ammunition, I’m sure Morelos will score.”

While there is still a small chance that Alfredo Morelos might head out of Ibrox but we do not think the manager will want to sell him off this time around since he has no time to bring in a like-to-like replacement for the Colombian.
