Rangers FC are right now fighting hard to keep hold of Alfredo Morelos for one more season but it looks like Gerrard is fighting a lost cause.

During the past two seasons, Alfredo Morelos has been the star of the Gers attack and especially last campaign, the Colombian has caught the eye of a number of top European clubs.

During the 2018-19 season, the 22-year-old scored a staggering 30 goals and made 11 assists in just 48 games and he could have ended up with a lot more if he hadn’t missed a number of matches due to suspension.

The forward has caught the eye of the likes of Marseille and Newcastle United who are reportedly willing to pay somewhere in the region of £20 million.

But according to former Celtic man Jackie McNamara, the Teddy Bears will be offloading Alfredo Morelos for a fee of around £10 million.

He said: “From what I hear and read, he’s off. Morelos has made it clear with what he’s said publicly that’s what he wants.

“I think Rangers will have a valuation and if that’s met he will go, maybe £10million, a bit more perhaps.

“If they get the right money for him, you imagine they take that money and try to invest it in other positions they’ll need to try and get closer to Celtic, which they think they are because they’ve beaten Celtic over a number of games.

“But I still think Celtic are way ahead,”

If McNamara is right and Rangers do sell Alfredo Morelos for £10 million then surely the Gers fans will not be too pleased with the transfer.

The Colombian is without a doubt their most prized asset and selling him off such a meagre prize will definitely not be good business from the Ibrox think tank.
