Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos has been tipped to move out of Ibrox this summer and with each passing day his suitors seem to be increasing.

A number of top European clubs have shown interest in signing the Colombian international this summer but most experts feel, Steven Gerrard will find it really hard to keep him at the club beyond this transfer window.

Now though, the Gers boss has made a clear statement regarding Alfredo Morelos and his possible exit out of the club this summer.

Here’s what he said:

“As a club, we haven’t got a decision to make because a bid hasn’t come in. Will it? Possibly.

“However, if it does happen, it won’t happen late. If someone wants to spend a lot of money on a centre forward and they want to take my centre forward, they’d have to come early.

“If he did end up going, he would be impossible to replace with only days or weeks remaining in the window.

“We don’t want him to go, we don’t want to sell him. But we all know every player has a price and I’m not going to sit here and say he’s not going out the door.

“If a bid lands that the board like and they want to accept, it’s a completely different conversation, but that hasn’t happened.

“The chairman is on the same page as me. We don’t have to sell and don’t want to sell.

“We understand that if a crazy bid lands on the table, you have to treat it seriously. But, if teams plan to wait until the last week of the window, they’re wasting their time.”

Alfredo Morelos has been the main goal-scorer for Rangers during the past two seasons so naturally, Steven Gerrard will need time to replace such a talent.

The Rangers boss already has his eyes set on Daniel Sturridge who is now a free agent but it would be really hard for Gerrard to convince his old teammate to join the Ibrox outfit – despite Alfredo Morelos leaves or not.
