Divock Origi has been used sparingly last season by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp but it looks like, his time at Anfield might already be up.

The 24-year-old joined Liverpool from French side Lille in 2014 but unfortunately, he was never able to have a consistent run of games in the first XI.

Last season too, Divock Origi managed to play in just 12 Premier League games managing to net 3 goals. But he did manage to score some crucial goals during the course of the season including the one in the Champions League final vs Spurs.

A number of experts had claimed that Jurgen Klopp might choose to sell him off this summer but once Daniel Sturridge was released it was more or less certain that Divock Origi would be staying at Liverpool as a backup to Roberto Firmino.

Now though, Jurgen Klopp seems to have made other plans for the Belgium international since reports are claiming that the German boss wants to use him to lure in left-back Junior Firpo.

Firpo currently plays for Real Betis and the 22-year-old has been on the radar of Liverpool for some time now.

Last season the 22-year-old featured in 24 La Liga games for Betis and it has been claimed that apart from Liverpool, Real Madrid too want to sign him this summer.

Jurgen Klopp is expected to launch a bid to sign the defender this summer and he might be planning to use Divock Origi as part of the deal – according to the reports.

The Reds boss wants to bring in the Real Betis defender as a backup to Andy Robertson next season – a position which should remain unchallenged for the coming few seasons.

But we are not quite sure why the manager would choose to part ways with Divock Origi given that he already has a shortage of centre-forwards.

Klopp has released Daniel Sturridge and also sold off Danny Ings this transfer window so offloading Divock Origi in order to bring in a left-back makes no sense at all.

Apart from Roberto Firmino, Origi is the only other recognised striker in the Liverpool squad right now so instead of sending him away, Jurgen Klopp should try and bring in one more attacker as a backup for another gruesome season.
