Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has made a lot of progress ever since he was appointed manager of the club and one of the most important things that he has done is select his regular playing eleven.

While players like David Luiz have come back into the squad after being on the verge of moving out during the summer, others like Gary Cahill have endured some tough times.

Sarri has already said that Gary Cahill is free to leave the club during the January transfer window and the player who could follow him out is Andreas Christensen.

Christensen like Cahill was a regular under Antonio Conte last season but under the new manager, the versatile centre-back has managed to play only 10 games out of which only one has come in the Premier League.

And now reports are claiming that La Liga side Barcelona have approached Chelsea in the hopes of signing the defender on loan for the rest of the season.

Barcelona are seemingly impressed with the talents of Christensen and the club believe the defender can prove to be a valuable asset for the rest of the season.

Barcelona want the player on loan with an option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.

While Chelsea are yet to respond to the offer but many believe Maurizio Sarri will give the green signal to the deal given that he has no use of Christensen.

Most of Christensen’s performances have come in the Europa League but if he were to stay back at Chelsea, these performances too will die down since the UEL will enter the business end next year.

Barcelona, on the other hand, are badly in need of some backup players in order to survive the rest of the season and Andreas Christensen could just be the perfect addition.
