Chelsea keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has been a really poor show this season in front of goal and as per reports, Lampard is looking to replace him with Ajax keeper Andre Onana.

Onana joined the Ajax academy from Barcelona in 2015 and it seems like the Dutch side are willing to part ways with him this summer for a fee in the region of €30 million.

The player has two years left on his current deal at the club and staying true to their model, Ajax are willing to cash in on him this summer instead of handing him a new deal.

As per a report in GFNF states: “French sports daily L’Équipe report that Cameroonian international goalkeeper André Onana will be allowed to leave Ajax this summer by Director General Edwin van der Sar and Sporting Director Marc Overmars.

“The 24-year-old is tempted by taking on a new challenge in a league with more stature and one that is more competitive.”

PSG wanted to sign Andre Onana last summer and as per this report, the Parisians might come back for him this time around as well.

But we don’t think the 24-year-old will be too eager to become a second-choice keeper at the club, behind Keylor Navas. And this is where Chelsea come in, especially since Lampard has had some big issues with Kepa so far this season.

The Spaniard was brought in for a huge sum back in 2018 but he is yet to justify his price and over the past couple of months, he has made a series of basic errors which had ended up costing Chelsea dearly.

The Blues are also keeping tabs on Nick Pope but Burnley are expected to charge an astronomical amount for the 27-year-old since he has three years left on his current deal.

But with Ajax willing to accept just €30 million for Andre Onana, the Cameroonian international could be the perfect long-term solution to the Spaniard.

During the 2019-20 season, Onana has managed to keep 15 clean sheets in just 39 matches for Ajax while Kepa has managed just eight in 33 games and has also conceded 43 goals.
