Real Madrid spent a lot of money in order to sign Luka Jovic last summer from Eintracht Frankfurt but so far the player has turned out to be a massive flop.
Madrid paid €60 million for the services of the Serbian international but this season he has managed to net only two goals in 15 La Liga matches for the club.
So naturally, over the past couple of months, there have been various reports claiming Zidane wants to sell off Jovic at the end of this season and recover his money.
Now though it seems like the manager has had a change of heart as he is willing to hold onto the forward for one more season primarily since he will not be able to sign Erling Haaland.
As per some reports, Real Madrid are looking to bring in Haaland in the summer but his release clause does not kick in until January which is why the La Liga outfit have decided to hold onto Luka Jovic for one more season as a backup to Karim Benzema.
This bit of news would be a real setback to both Arsenal and Spurs who have been heavily linked with a move for the 22-year-old in the summer.
Spurs have been looking at Jovic as a replacement to Harry Kane while Arsenal want the Serbian as a replacement to Lacazette.
Now though it seems like both the North London sides will have to look elsewhere since Luke Jovic looks all set to remain at the Bernabeu.
While some experts believe a lucrative offer might be able to change Zidane’s decision but sadly both Spurs and Arsenal do not have such financial prowess right now.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, both these sides are respected to work on a very small budget in the summer meaning they cannot go out and splash €90 odd million on one single player.
Also, Arsenal are badly in need of defensive reinforcements for the upcoming season so the first thing Mikel Arteta will have in mind is to bring in a few good quality defenders instead of trying to sign centre-forwards.
