Chelsea suffered yet another defeat as they were knocked out of the FA Cup by Manchester United.

The Red Devils won the match 2-0 with both the goals coming from the midfielders.

And once again, Sarri’s men looked toothless in attack despite having control of the game, especially in the second half.

The Italian chose to make a few substitutions in the second half but most of them were like for like and it once again went on to show that Sarri does not have a plan B.

Ander Herrera scored the first of the game while a few minutes later Paul Pogba added the second and both these came primarily due to defensive lapses.

Sarri chose to play Antonio Rudiger and David Luiz in central defence which meant Andreas Christensen was once again warming the benches.

The centre-back’s current deal with the Blues expires in 2022 but up until now, the Danish international has only played in two Premier League games this season.

This has prompted many to believe that Andreas Christensen could be on his way out of the club during the summer.

But the defender believes that he is still very much part of Sarri’s squad and does not intend to leave any time soon.

“It is hard. Right now there are two clear first choices, and then there is me who comes right after,” Christensen said.

“I just have to show, I’m ready and grab the chance when I get it.

“There was a lot of talk, but it was pretty soon made clear to me that the club still saw me as one of those to play.

“Of course it is really nice to hear, and I just have to keep showing myself. I think I’ve done well, the last few times I’ve got the chance, and I just have to hope that something is pointed to me more often.

“ I’ve been to the club for many years and I still love being there. It is solely because of the playing time that the considerations have been set in motion.

“But I look forward and am very clear with the situation.”

Barcelona did show an interest in signing Andreas Christensen during the January transfer window but Chelsea eventually turned down that offer which goes on to show that Maurizio Sarri might have other ideas for the young centre-back.
