West Ham United are without a doubt in turmoil and hence Andy Carroll’s return back to fitness is surely a huge boost to Manuel Pellegrini and his plans.

Yes, you heard that right Andy Carroll’s return is imminent with a capital ‘I’.

Andy Carroll suffered an ankle injury back in July and initial reports suggested that the forward will be out of action until the first week of December.

But now the club’s official website have revealed that the 29-year-old will be back in training as early as this week.

West Ham’s head of medical Richard Collinge said“Andy Carroll is progressing really nicely and he’s going to start doing some work on the pitches this week, so he’s making really good progress,”

And this news of Andy Carroll’s return will be a very positive sign for West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini who is trying to find every means necessary in order to pick up his first win as the Hammers boss.

Why is Andy Carroll’s return a blessing?

If we rewind back to the summer transfer window then we would remember that the Hammers were playing to offload Andy Carroll before the start of the new season but that plan had to be scrapped because the forward sustained the injury.

Reports suggested that all the interested clubs backed off because of Andy Carroll’s lengthy absence.

But now the fact that West Ham were unable to sell the player has turned out to be a pretty great thing given that Andy Carroll is a goal getter.

While Andy Caroll’s return should be celebrated but the Everton game will be too early for him to make a comeback.

If he does start training on the pitch this week then we can safely say that the fans can atleast expect Andy Carroll’s return to the first team during the Chelsea or the Man United game.
