Rangers FC manager Steven Gerrard has heaped praises on midfielder Andy Halliday after the Scottish international’s incredible performance against Hamilton during the weekend.

The Teddy Bears came out 4-1 winners in the Premiership game and Andy Halliday was a key performer having been deployed by his manager at left-back.

Andy Halliday spent the first half of the previous season out on loan only to return back to Scotland in January. And following this, the midfielder was expected to be sold off by Rangers during the summer transfer window.

But Steven Gerrard who was appointed as the new boss during the summer chose to take his chances with Andy Halliday.

Speaking after the win vs Hamilton, Gerrard said: “I thought that Andy was terrific,

He played really well and had a strong performance and he hasn’t let me down as of yet.

“Nikola did okay, but I felt that tactically we needed to change that up towards the end

“The changes now have worked, but there were times when I was looking back wondering if I shouldn’t have.”

Andy Halliday so far has played 13 games in all competitions for Rangers out of which five have come in the Premiership.

Rangers take on Spartak Moscow in the Europa League on Thursday and given that the Russian club have sacked their manager, the Teddy Bears should be looking at an easy three points.
