Manchester United forward Anthony Martial moved to Old Trafford from France a couple of seasons ago with great promise but with each passing year, his role has diminished at Old Trafford.

It is no secret that Martial is not Jose Mourinho’s first choice and the forward played second fiddle to the likes of Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford for most of the season. And things got worse when Alexis Sanchez arrived from Arsenal in January.

The arrival of the Chilean struck another blow to Anthony Martial’s future at Old Trafford and now reports have it that the Frenchman wants to move out.

Martial’s inconsistent season at Manchester United saw him left out of the World Cup squad and this has reportedly caused huge doubts in the forward’s minds.

His agent Philippe Lamboley has gone on to claim that the player will try and force a move out of United during the coming months.

Lamboley said“After thinking about all the possibilities, Anthony wants to leave Manchester United,

“When Manchester United, which is the most powerful club in the world, does not find an agreement in eight months of negotiations, it is that it does not really want to make him an important player.

“It is a well-considered decision. He is under contract, United will have the last word and we will respect the decision of the club, it will go to the end of its commitment.

“We do not have the same vision on Anthony’s future. Without the unconditional support of the fans, Anthony would have already asked to leave United.

“I will not comment on the consequences of the January transfer window. Everyone will have his opinion, I think he must resume the course of his career. The time has come.”

And no club will be happier than Tottenham Hotspur who have been heavily linked with the player for the past couple of months. It is being claimed that Mauricio Pochettino wants to bring Anthony Martial on board at any cost and is ready to battle Juventus who are also interested in the Frenchman.

Manchester United though have maintained time and again that they do not wish to sell Anthony Martial and the club are desperate to tie down the player with a new deal.
