Antoine Griezmann has been linked with a move away from Atletico Madrid during the summer and the France international is expected to make the official announcement this week.

Griezmann’s current contract with Atleti expires in 2022 but there have been rumours that the attacking midfielder is expected to move out.

Barcelona are reportedly leading the race to sign the France international while some claim that Premier League side Manchester United also stay in the hunt.

United have been long time suitors of Griezmann while Barcelona’s interest in the player is substantially new. But the Catalans are more than ready to trigger the player’s release clause at Atletico Madrid.

“It’s good that you’re taking an interest,” Griezmann said after France’s 1-1 friendly draw with the U. S. national team.

“There’s a week to go. I think we will find out this week.”

This statement comes after reports which suggested that France coach Didier Deschamps had told Antoine Griezmann and Thomas Lemar to sort out their club futures before the World Cup commences.

France begin their World Cup campaign against Australia on June 16 in their first Group stage encounter.
