Arsenal missed out on the Champions League this season and their main aim will be to get back into the top tier of European football next campaign.

And up until now, they have made a pretty good move towards that goal by winning their first two matches of the new EPL season. But having that though all the hard work could very easily be washed out next weekend when the Gunners take on Liverpool.

Arsenal will be taking on Liverpool at Anfield and last time they went to Merseyside in December of 2018, the North London side ended up losing that match 5-1 with Roberto Firmino scoring a hattrick.

But speaking before this high-intensity game, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang has come out to claim that even though qualifying for the Champions League remains the ultimate goal this season but they also have the squad to challenge for the Premier League title.

He told Canal Plus(as reported by the Metro): ‘I think as I said earlier we have made good signings, that will help us.

‘Last season, we were not far away from qualifying for the Champions’ League.

‘Whatever happens, that is the most important thing, the most important aim for us. To be back in the Champions’ League.

‘Aside from that, to fight for the title, we know very well that the big guns are ready but we are also ready and in any case, we are going to give our all to match the big guns if possible.

‘The Premier League has seen a very good Lacazette, but not yet the best Lacazette,

‘I need to score more goals I know, I need to be more consistent and consistent throughout matches.

‘I can do better… I am continuing to work, the national team coach makes his decisions.

‘I am trying to put in the work. There you have it. I am still (motivated for it).’

Before the start of the season, most pundits had predicted that it will be Man City and Liverpool once again who will fight for the title. But the likes of Arsenal and Man United have done pretty good business during the summer which has surprisingly put them in pretty close quarters to the winner and runners-up of last campaign.
