Philippe Coutinho has been heavily linked with a move back to the Premier League this summer and Arsenal have been named on that list of possible destinations.

The Gunners are said to be interested in signing the ex-Liverpool star as Barcelona are willing to send him out on loan yet again for the upcoming season.

And recently the Brazilian’s agent Kia Joorabchian was spotted at the Emirates and immediately this gave rise to rumours of Philippe Coutinho looking to secure a move to Arsenal at the end of the season.

Now though, his agent has come out to clear the air claiming that while a return to the Premier League remains a big possibility, he was at the Emirates not to discuss the transfer.

“The fact I’m an Arsenal supporter is not a secret,” Joorabchian told Sky Sports News.

“I don’t have any preference where the players go. I don’t try to push someone to one club or another. Everything is a possibility.

“The Premier League is something that he has always enjoyed playing in, and loved playing in, and would probably love to come back and play in.

“The question is what are going to be the financial conditions of all the clubs, including Barcelona and all the Premier League clubs at the end of this pandemic.”

Mikel Arteta is desperate to add some flair to his first-team squad next season and Philippe Countinho is certainly the right man for the job.

But as things stand, it’s Chelsea who are said to be the favourites to sign the Brazilian since the Blues have already agreed to pay the hefty salary of the player in full.

On top of that, Frank Lampard’s side could also agree on a mandatory buying clause at the end of the loan deal, something which Barcelona would dearly love.

So while Arsenal would happily accept Philippe Coutinho at their club we are not sure their management at this point in time can afford to go into a financial contest with their London neighbours.
