Nicolas Pepe to replace Aubameyang Arsenal EPL
Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan Arsenal news

Arsenal have qualified for the semi-finals of the Europa League after beating Napoli in the quarter-finals.

Napoli were the first really tough opponents that the Gunners had faced in Europe so far this season and many expected the London outfit to be knocked out especially since their away record has been so tragic.

After losing to teams like BATE and Rennes away from home everyone expected Arsenal to drop points in Naples for the second leg.

But instead the Gunners defended resolutely all throughout the match and a single goal from Alexandre Lacazette was enough to close down the tie.

The likes of Monreal, Sokratis and Koscielny played a brilliant game in keeping the likes of Isigne at bay on Thursday.

Sadly though, the Europa League does not think the Arsenal players were at par with some of the other teams who were playing in Europe that very same day.

After the quarter-finals were concluded, the Europa League published their team of the week which surprisingly did not have a single Arsenal player on it.

The team of the week was dominated by the Valencia players and even Slavia had a couple of players on the list despite them losing to Chelsea in a frantic game at Stamford Bridge.

And so naturally, the Arsenal fans were infuriated at this decision.

Arsenal will take on Valencia in the semi-final the first leg of which will be played at the Emirates on the 2nd of May.
