Arsenal lost their second game of the new Premier League season 3-2 to Chelsea and Unai Emery is now facing the heat from the Gunners fans.
Chelsea went 2-0 up in the match and looked all set to pick up an easy win but that is when Arsenal dug deep and somehow managed to get back level thanks to goals from Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alex Iwobi.
But it was Chelsea who had the last laugh thanks to a late goal from left-back Marcos Alonso.
While the fans are furious with the club and the players for their lack-lustre performance they are not too displeased with their manager especially after what he did during the match.
Unai Emery chose to take off both Granit Xhaka and Mesut Ozil after the midfielders had a poor outing. And the fans are happy after seeing that their new manager is not afraid of making tough decisions.
The manager took off Xhaka at the start of the second half and brought in Lucas Torreira while Mesut Ozil was replaced by Aaron Ramsey with 20 minutes left on the clock.
Fans are happy that Emery’s calls point to the fact that underperforming players will not be spared which was not always the case during Arsene Wenger’s regime.
Here are some fans’ reactions:
Like the fact that Emery isn’t afraid of making these big calls though. No way Ozil and Xhaka get hooked before.

Manager subbing off xhaka at half time and ozil during the game too? My drug, inject it into my veins 💉 maybe there actually is hope for this team 🤔😂 love unai emery basing subs on needs and merit. Trying to do whatever it takes 👍🏽

Balls from Emery to sub Ozil out. Exactly what's needed. Would have never happened under Wenger

Xhaka off at 45, Ozil off 65. Ramsey doesn’t start.
Yep yep yep Emery has taken two games but he’s got it. Love him.

Say what you want about Emery but he isnt fazed at all to make a big call. 2 weeks now we have seen Xhaka subbed and now Ozil for underperforming.
