Kyle Lafferty
Kyle Lafferty to Rangers

Rangers FC have so far signed eleven new players during the summer transfer window and by the looks of it, their 12th signing could arrive pretty early this week.

The Light Blues have been chasing Hearts striker Kyle Lafferty for some time now and reports last week had suggested that the striker is on his way to Ibrox after both the clubs have agreed upon a deal.

But the Hearts manager quickly rubbished these rumours stating that Kyle Lafferty was a long way away from being a Rangers player.

And now once again rumours on Sunday are suggested that the deal has almost been wrapped up and Lafferty is expected to be Rangers’ man by Tuesday.

But before signing the 30-year-old forward, pundit Chris Sutton has a word of caution for Rangers.

Sutton said on BT Sport Football’s Periscope account“I think he’s a bit of a loose cannon,

“Everything has gone swimmingly well for Steven Gerrard and why take the risk?

“I’m not doubting that he isn’t an influential player, but why take the risk? He’s not going to play in there with [Alfredo] Morelos.”

Honestly, Chris Sutton is one of those of rare few who feel that Kyle Lafferty would be a risk for Rangers. We believe that Lafferty is the kind of player who can act as the perfect back-up to Alfredo Morelos who is in fine form right now.

Gerrard cannot back on Morelos to keep churning out performances during every single game and this is where Kyle Lafferty would come in handy is the 30-year-old can chip in with a couple of goals.
