Arsenal take on Standard Liege in the Europa League this week and both their first-choice full-backs are on the risk of missing out due to injuries.

Hector Bellerin picked up a hamstring injury right before the West Ham United as a result of which he had to be replaced by Maitland-Niles during the match.

And speaking after the match, Ljungberg confirmed: “He had a feeling in his hamstring in the warm-up and we took the decision. We weren’t going to force anybody on if they didn’t feel 100 per cent.”

It is still unclear as to how bad the injury really it but we don’t think the interim manager will risk using Bellerin in midweek especially since he has just come back from a long injury lay-off.

With Hector Bellerin out of the picture, it should be Maitlan-Niles who gets to play at right-back once again but some reports claim Callum Chambers could also play in that role after featuring in central defence against the Hammers.

The other injury absentee could be left-back Kieran Tierney who injured his shoulder during the weekend and had to be taken off the pitch as a result.

It had been reported that Tierney left the stadium with his arm in a sling and only scans will reveal whether the injury is serious or not.

While we are all still waiting on the updates but the Arsenal summer signing will most certainly not be risked against Standard Liege since, like Bellerin, he too has just returned back from an injury.

The former Celtic man had been on the sidelines with groin trouble since the start of the season and has been playing regular first-team football only since the past couple of weeks.

Sead Kolasinac came onto the pitch to replace Tierney on Monday and the Bosnian will once again be named in the starting XI when Arsenal take on Liege away from home.
