Chelsea manager Frank Lampard will be able to sign new players during the January transfer after their transfer ban was halved.

The Blues boss failed to bring in a single new signing during the summer due to the transfer embargo meaning he had to rely on his academy youngsters to sell him through the rough phase.

For the first few months, things had been going pretty smoothly for Frank Lampard but during the past few games, some cracks have been beginning to appear which is why most people feel the ban has been lifted at the right time.

Most pundits and fans believe, Chelsea will dive straight into the transfer market in January and try to bring in as many players as possible.

But Frank Lampard holds a totally different view of the whole scenario wherein he’s refused to spend big amounts of money on players at the start of the new year.

“You have to be careful not to be too reactionary,” Lampard said at a press conference.

“Ban lifted, lose at Everton it might be easy to come to that conclusion. As much as at the start of the season that we have got these young boys, we don’t need anyone.

“As a club like Chelsea, there has to be a balance.

“We have a strong squad, but we have to look at can we strengthen? There will be times going forward, whether it’s January or next summer there will be times and opportunities to strengthen.

“You do learn as you go along with the players, every day in training and at games but it certainly hasn’t changed my mindset right now.”

Yes, Frank Lampard might not look to bring in too many new players during the January transfer window but with the way his defenders have been playing, the Blues boss is surely going to try and sign atleast one new central defender.
