Manchester United have joined Arsenal in the race to sign Leicester City’s right-back Dennis Gyamfi – as per a report in the Football Insider.

Earlier today, reports had suggested that Arsenal are keeping an eye on the 18-year-old who has shone in the U18’s games and are expected to make a move for him in the summer.

Now as per Football Insider, Man United have also joined the hunt as Dennis Gyamfi is set to be a free agent at the end of the 2019-20 season.

The report claims: “Man United have joined the race to sign Leicester City rising star Dennis Gyamfi this summer, Football Insider has learned.

“A United source has told Football Insider that the club are aware that Gyamfi will soon be available as a free agent and his future is likely to be sorted in the coming weeks.”

Arsenal or Man United: Where will Gyamfi head to?

Dennis Gyamfi is available for free this summer which is one of the main reasons why both Arsenal and Manchester United are showing so much interest in the full-back.

And while both these sides are quite evenly matched, we feel, it’s Arsenal who have a slight edge over Man United in this transfer race.

Whichever club Dennis Gyamfi joins in the summer, he would want a considerable amount of game time next season and as things stand, Arsenal have a better chance of providing the same rather than Ole’s side.

Man United already have players like Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot who dominate the right-back position meaning it will be impossible for Gyamfi to break into the starting line-up straight away.

But at Arsenal, he can achieve the aforementioned rather easily since their first-choice right-back Hector Bellerin has not been his usual self over the current season primarily due to a series of injuries.

While the player will not cost a penny in the transfer market but the 18-year-old is on a scholarship contract meaning Leicester will receive a compensation fee for his development costs.
