Aaron Ramsey Arsenal news

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey is on his way out of the club during the summer transfer window after the club shelved the option of providing him with a new deal.

Ramsey has agreed to join Juventus for the new season as a free agent which means Arsenal will now have to spend money out of their own pockets in order to bring in a direct replacement.

But now it looks like Unai Emery has made other plans.

Speaking before the Leicester City game, the Arsenal manager has stated that instead of bringing in a new player to replace Aaron Ramsey, the Gunners might look into their own academy for inspiration.

‘Yes, but there are also players coming through from the academy who are producing good performances and who could progress,’ he told Sky Sports(via Metro).

‘We could replace him with a player from outside, or with a player who is already here who can grow like he did himself.’

If an Arsenal youngster can fill up the shoes left behind by Aaron Ramsey then surely it will be a huge financial boost for the club.

But right now the biggest question is whether Emery should risk taking such a gamble especially when the other top six clubs are willing to splash money left right and centre.

Apart from the Aaron Ramsey exit, the Spanish boss has also hinted that there will surely be movement in the transfer market when the current season comes to an end.

‘There could be a lot of movement in terms of signings and departures,’ Emery added.

‘Or there could be a little, but first of all, I believe there is a good base for the team already here.’

Next up, Arsenal will take on Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Sunday and they still have a fairly good chance of finishing in the top-four especially now that Spurs have lost at home to West Ham United.
