Arsenal manager Unai Emery chose not to select Mesut Ozil during the North London Derby in midweek.

And this was a clear indication that the playmaker was surplus to the manager’s need this season.

Earlier today a report had claimed that Unai Emery is not happy with the lazy attitude that Mesut Ozil shows on the pitch and instead he wants players like Iwobi and Torreira who can play a high tempo game for the full 90 minutes.

This is perhaps the only reason why Mesut Ozil has not featured for Arsenal during the past couple of games and this might also be the reason why the German could head out of Arsenal during the January transfer window.

A number of reports have claimed that Mesut Ozil is no longer happy with life at the club and wants to head out of the Emirates as soon as possible.

There are a few clubs in Europe who want to sign Mesut Ozil and chances are that the playmaker will be sold off by Arsenal during the January transfer window itself.

Unai Emery had chosen to avoid questions about Mesut Ozil’s future earlier this week which was another hint that Arsenal are more than ready to offload him at the start of the new year.

“My focus now is analyzing this match and also Saturday against Burnley is very important. We are going to assess every player, how they are tomorrow in training and for a difficult match against Burnley on Saturday,” Emery told Arsenal.com.

“I am thinking about the match on Saturday, and not thinking about another situation.”

And now according to a report, Serie A side Inter Milan are frontrunners in signing the Arsenal playmaker and the club are expected to make a move for Mesut Ozil during the first week of January.

Mesut Ozil currently earns £350,000-per-week at Arsenal which is more than any other player at the club and this is surely an absurd amount for someone who is not even playing regular football.

So you can clearly understand that Mesut Ozil’s long-term future is surely not in North London.
