Arsenal are planning to bring in a couple of new players during the summer transfer window and one of them is expected to be Cagliari midfielder, Nicolo Barella.

The Gunners have been linked with the central midfielder for some time now but up until last week all most of the actions were basically rumours.

But now concrete reports have come out that Arsenal have sent out scouts to watch the player in action for the third time.

Arsenal are set to lose Aaron Ramsey to Juventus at the end of the season after the midfielder signed a pre-contract with the Turin outfit and it looks like Emery has shortlisted Nicolo Barella as the Welshman’s long-term replacement.

Nicolo Barella joined Cagliari in 2016 and despite the club’s poor performances this season, the midfielder has been one of their stand out performers.

As per reports, the Serie A outfit have valued the Italian at around €50m which is certainly a steep price for Arsenal since they will not be getting a penny out of Aaron Ramsey’s move out of Juventus.

But Emery knows fully well that he will have to bring in someone of top quality in order to fill up the void left behind by the Welshman and the Spaniard is hoping that Nicolo Barella can do that job.

Watching a player in action for three times certainly indicates that the Gunners are interested in making a move during the summer but some experts believe the high asking price could prove to be a stumbling block.

But the Arsenal has plans of offloading a number of his high earning players during the summer which should bring in more funds and make the signing of Nicolo Barella a bit easier.
