With each passing week, Arsenal were growing confident that they will be able to land up Thomas Lemar from AS Monaco. But by the looks of it, their move for the young Frenchman might just have hit a road block.

According to reports, Monaco are in a bit of a concern about the amount of talent that is leaving or is about to leave the club in the summer. They have already sold the likes of Bernardo Silva and Tiemoue Bakayoko, while both Kylian Mbappe and Benjamin Mendy have already packed their bags. So in such a situation, it was reported last week that Monaco was going to halt the transfer of Thomas Lemar to Arsenal.

But now fresh reports, have been coming in that Monaco are willing to sell their dynamic midfielder to Arsenal only if the London club is willing to put forward a revised bid.

Monaco might just have taken a leaf out of Tottenham’s books and upped the price tag of Thomas Lemar. Currently, the French outfit sees Lemar in the same price bracket as Kyle Walker, i.e. £50 million.

The Football Fan Base view:

Initially, Arsene Wenger hoped that he would be able to land the 21-year-old at the Emirates within a price bracket of £25 million. But Monaco have very clearly seen how Manchester City have readily paid £54 million for Kyle Walker. And now the French club is hoping to pull out a similar deal by preying on the desperation of Arsene Wenger.
