Liverpool FC are said to be interested in making a move for Arsenal youngster Bukayo Saka during the upcoming transfer window, as per Football Insider.

Saka is a product of the youth academy at Arsenal and this season, the 18-year-old has featured in 30 matches for the Gunners out of which 18 have been in the Premier League.

And with just one year left on his current deal at the Emirates, it’s being reported that the club is already in the process of offering him a new deal amidst fears that Liverpool might try and persuade him away at the end of this current season.

The report claims: “Liverpool have set their sights on signing Bukayo Saka but Arsenal are planning to rebuff all interest this summer if he rejects a new deal, Football Insider can reveal.

“An Arsenal source has told Football Insider that the club are working on tying Saka to a new five-year deal to replace his current agreement, which expires next year.”

Will Arsenal have to cash in on Bukayo Saka?

Bukayo Saka is set to be a free agent in the summer of 2021 but if the Gunners cannot make him sign a new deal before the 2020-21 season begins, Arteta might very well have to offload him in the next transfer window itself.

And while the management at the club are confident about Saka agreeing to the new deal but we fear the youngster might choose to shun the proposal for more reasons than one.

Firstly, Liverpool are one of the best teams in Europe right now and if Jurgen Klopp comes calling for you, not a lot of players will have the courage to say no to the German manager.

Bukayo Saka is just 18 years old so if he can get to work under someone like Klopp, the player is bound to develop into one of the best talents in world football.

Secondly, Saka can play both as a midfielder and also as a left-back and as per rumours, Arteta is looking to sign new players in each one of these areas.

If this holds true there’s a big possibility the academy lad might fall down the pecking order next campaign which will surely not please him after the performances he’s put in this season.

We are still not sure if Bukayo Saka will agree or reject the offer from Arsenal but one thing’s for certain. With Liverpool entering the scene, things are certainly not looking good for the North London club.
