Arsenal have been fighting a tug of war with Celtic over the signing of Kieran Tierney ever since the summer transfer window opened.

But till date, the left-back is nowhere close to joining the Premier League outfit.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon had earlier made it clear that the youngster will only be sold if the interested clubs are willing to pay the demanded transfer fee – believed to be in the region of 25 million pounds.

“We can’t do anything about what clubs do in England,” he said.

“£50m for Wan-Bissaka is a lot of money and we feel that Kieran is a far more experienced and rounded full-back at this juncture in his career.

“He’s an asset for us and we do have a value for the player and we rate the player very highly.

“So disrespectful is the wrong word but we’re certainly not going to be pushed over in any negotiations and we’re in a very strong position with regards to a number of our assets in the team.

“The club’s valuation of Kieran has not been met and until then we don’t have a discussion.”

And now fresh reports are suggesting that the Gunners might just have decided against going after Kieran Tierney this summer.

Sports Mole are reporting: “According to the Daily Mail, Unai Emery’s side are now considering pulling the plug on a deal as the team already have experienced options at left-back in the shape of Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac.

“The report adds that Arsenal’s need for a new centre-back, a midfielder and a winger ahead of the 2019-20 campaign could lead to the English club deciding against another offer for Tierney.”

Unai Emery has a transfer budget of just 45 million pounds so it looks like he has decided to use that money wisely.

Right now, the club is badly in need of attacking players so it looks like Kieran Tierney might be staying at Celtic for one more season.

Some rumours have also claimed that Arsenal might have pulled out of the race since Napoli have shown an interest in signing the left-back and Emery knows that his club cannot match the financial physicality of the Serie A club.

But having said all this, the news of Arsenal pulling out of the race to sign Kieran Tierney sounds a bit odd since Spanish outlet Marca have claimed that the Gunners have submitted a third bid which is believed to be in the region of 27 million pounds.
