Arsenal have joined Premier League rivals Leicester City and Everton in the race to sign 21-year-old defensive midfielder Ibrahima Diallo from Brest – as per the Daily Star.

The report claims: “Arsenal are ready to rival Sevilla in a £20m race to sign Ibrahima Diallo, who scouts have labelled the next N’Golo Kante.

“Leicester had a bid of up to £16m turned down for the midfielder in January and remain in the running, while Everton and Nice have also made recent enquiries.

“But Sevilla have jumped to the front of the queue after opening talks – and Arsenal are also now expected to make their move.”

Arsenal have been keeping an eye on Ibrahima Diallo for a number of months but till now, the Gunners were more than happy to observe from the background. But as per Daily Star, it looks like Mikel Arteta has finally given the green signal to make a move for the youngster.

Are Arsenal serious about signing Ibrahima Diallo?

The Gunners are also chasing Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey and we feel, Arteta will only make a formal offer for Diallo if Thomas chooses not to move out of Spain in the summer.

Ibrahima Diallo has been a rock-solid performer for Brest this season – making 22 appearances before the campaign was suspended. And he has also drawn parallels with Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante.

But getting hands on the 21-year-old will not be a walk in the park since both Leicester City and Everton are really serious about signing him before the next season.

While Everton are expected to make a formal offer in the coming few weeks, Leicester have already seen a bid turned down by the Ligue 1 club.

So if Arteta is actually serious about signing the French U20 international, he will have to make a final call before the other Premier League clubs secure a deal for him.
