Arsenal went off to Dean Court on Boxing Day to take on AFC Bournemouth but once again they failed to pick up all three points in the Premier League.
The Gunners controlled the rhythm of the game for most of the 90 minutes but it was the home side who took the lead through Dan Gosling but thankfully Aubameyang stepped up to score the equaliser in the 63rd minute and salvage a draw.
New manager Mikel Arteta and most of the Arsenal fans seem to be pretty content with the team’s performance despite picking up a draw but there was one man who refused to show any kind of optimism
This man was former Arsenal forward Thierry Henry who refused to be judgemental after Arteta’s first game in charge but he did point out a few flaws in the team’s performance on Boxing Day.
Thierry Henry said: “In all fairness, it’s very difficult to judge someone after one game and only a few days of training.
“What I’ve seen today is what I’ve seen for a long time with Arsenal. I don’t think they played well but Aubameyang scored. I’ve seen that so many times.
“We go back to the [Bournemouth] goal. I don’t want to name names but we’re talking about the same guys again and again.
“[Alexandre] Lacazette should have won it with a good chance but it’s difficult to judge that team right now. They are trying to learn under a new manager so we will see.
“But what I’ve seen today is what I’ve seen for a long time… not that great and Aubameyang scored.”
This was Arsenal’s ninth draw in the Premier League this season and next up they take on Chelsea on Saturday – a game where they could once again drop points.
