Arsenal took on Barcelona in their final pre-season game and it looks like Dani Ceballos has picked up an injury during that match.

The Gunners lost the game 2-1 with Maitland Niles scoring an own-goal and next up, the North London side will take on Newcastle United in the season opener of the Premier League.

Unai Emery has obviously spent a fair deal of money to strengthen his attacking half of the squad and one of the signings has been midfielder Dani Ceballos.

The Gunners have brought in the player from Real Madrid on a season-long loan with an option to buy next summer and everyone believes that he could be the perfect replacement for Aaron Ramsey.

But the player though is now on the verge of missing out during the season opener after he was on the receiving end of a tackle from Clément Lenglet.

And speaking after the match, the Arsenal boss has confirmed that Dani Ceballos has indeed picked up a knock and will not train for the next couple of days.

The manager said: “My idea was to play Ceballos for about 20 minutes.

“He was very sore after Lenglet’s kick and he can’t train for the next few days.”

Arsenal will take on Newcastle United next Sunday at St James’ Park so the midfielder still has six days to make a recovery.

But we do not think, Unai Emery will risk playing him from the start even if he is deemed fully fit.

Maybe we will get to see him in action as a substitute in the second half – that too if Arsenal are in desperate need of him.
