Arsenal travel to the Etihad this midweek to take on Manchester City in one of the first two matches for the Premier League resumption.

The Gunners are currently ninth on the league table but if they can manage to pick up a win in this match, they will once again be in the vicinity of the top-four. And just to look at the brighter side, Arsenal have not lost a single match in their last six league matches.

But at the same time, picking up a win against Manchester City that too away from home is no walk in the park, especially when the players have not seen any competitive game-time for almost three months.

Arsenal have drawn their last 5 away matches in the Premier League which has been one of the major reasons for their poor performance this season and the fans will be hoping that their side can pick up all three points on Wednesday.

Arsenal team news vs Man City:

This lockdown has helped all the injured players make a full recovery and only a couple of them are still doubts for the midweek fixture.

Calum Chambers is still recovering from his long-term injury and he will not be a part of this match meaning Hector Bellerin will play at right-back as the Spaniard has made a full recovery himself.

David Luiz will be partnered by Sokratis in central defence as we doubt if Mikel Arteta will want to risk someone like Pablo Mari against Manchester City’s attacking force, that too away from home.

Kieran Tierney has also returned back to training but young Bukayo Saka should keep his place in the starting line-up at the Etihad.

Dani Ceballos started getting game-time right before the lockdown was enforced and the loanee should once again get a start this week vs Man City. Lucas Torreira remains doubtful for this match as he’s still not fully recovered from his injuries.

Matteo Guendouzi has failed to win the trust of his manager and the young Frenchman should only manage to find a place on the bench for this one.

Mesut Ozil has moved up the pecking order under new boss Mikel Arteta and the German will reprise his role as the playmaker while Lacazette plays upfront.

Aubameyang has been tipped to move out this summer but till the time he’s at the club, Arteta will make full use of him deploying him on the left flank. Nicolas Pepe has been really underwhelming so far this season but the former Ligue 1 sensation will get a start on the left-hand side of the pitch.
