Arsenal will take on Tottenham Hotspur in the EFL Cup this midweek and the Gunners will be hoping to get back to winning ways after their 3-2 defeat to Southampton.

The loss to Saints during the previous weekend ended the 22-game unbeaten streak for Unai Emery’s men but that loss has done very little to dent the hopes of the North London club.

Arsenal won the first North London Derby of the season earlier this month and the Gunners will be hoping to do a double over their arch-rivals before the year comes to an end.

Arsenal team news vs Spurs:

Arsenal go into this match with a number of injury concerns and once again the manager will be concerned over the fitness of his defenders.

The fact that Laurent Koscielny is back to full fitness will be of great help for the manager and the Frenchman will surely be one of the three centre-backs vs Spurs on Wednesday.

Shkodran Mustafi is currently recovering from a hamstring injury but recent reports suggest the player should make himself fit for the match against Spurs.

Sokratis has a thigh injury but like Mustafi he too shall feature in the three-man defence on Wednesday.

Rob Holding remains sidelined for the rest of the season with an ACL injury while Hector Bellerin has a calf strain and he is expected to be out for a couple of weeks.

The absence of Bellerin means Lichtsteiner will play as the right win-back against Spurs while Nacho Monreal will play down the left-hand side.

Danny Welbeck suffered a horrific ankle injury a couple of weeks ago and like Rob Holding, he is out for the rest of the season.

Unai Emery should go with a 3-5-2 formation against the Lilywhites meaning both Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette should start upfront on Wednesday.
