Maurizio Sarri is on the brink of being sacked at Chelsea and many reports claim that the Italian could be on his way out during the international break.

After Chelsea lost to Everton last weekend, the rumours mills were filled with news that Roman Abramovich had made up his mind to sack the manager this week itself.

But now it looks like that wouldn’t be the case and Sarri could just end up staying until the end of the season.

Though the same reports have also claimed that if the Blues fail to make it to the top-four of the Premier League or crash out of the Europa League then Maurizio Sarri could be packing his bags early.

And according to football pundit, Paul Merson, former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will be the perfect man to replace the Italina at Stamford Bridge.

“There isn’t a job here big enough for him. But Wenger might,” Merson said.

“If Chelsea’s transfer ban stands and they have to start using their lorryload of kids, that is suddenly a job Wenger could succeed at.

“He’s not afraid to play young players and he knows the league.”

Merson has hit the nail on the head since Arsene Wenger has had a history of working well with young talent but we do not see this move going through.

After leaving Arsenal, Arsene Wenger had himself claimed that he had gotten a few offers from the Premier League but did not take it up.

The Frenchman was even linked with a job at Man United sometime last year but that too faded away pretty quickly.

And in all practicality there is no way, the Gunners heartthrob would want to manage a London rival and in turn get on the bad books of the Arsenal fans.
