Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan Arsenal news

Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could remain at the club next season thanks to his strike partner Alexandre Laceztte – as per reports.

Both these players have been tipped to move out in the summer with a number of clubs interested in signing him and it finally looks like Mikel Arteta has chosen his favourite.

According to the Daily Mail, the Gunners have put Lacazette up for sale with La Liga Atletico Madrid interested in signing him.

The report claims: “Arsenal are ready to cash in on Alexandre Lacazette this summer as Atletico Madrid prepare to launch a bid for the striker.

“The Gunners spent a club record £52million to sign the Frenchman from Lyon in 2017 but he’s fallen down the pecking order at the Emirates this season.

“According to AS, Arsenal are open to offers for the 28-year-old and that could pave the way for Atletico Madrid to firm up their interest.”

Aubameyang to remain at Arsenal?

Now that Arsenal have decided to cash in on Alexandre Lacazette it looks like the Aubameyang will be staying at the Emirates.

The Gabon international is out of contract next year and Arsenal are ready to offer a new deal at the club. But right now, the biggest stumbling block seems to be his big wage demands.

Aubameyang wants a massive increase in his current salary which is a big deterrent for the North London club.

But now it seems like the club has chosen to take a risk with the forward by keeping him at the Emirates for one more season even if that means to harbour the uncertainty of losing him for free next year.

Mikel Arteta seems to have come to the conclusion that the ex-Dortmund man is much more important than Alexandre Lacazette and if the Gunners want to get back into the Champions League next season then there’s no way Aubameyang could be allowed to leave in the summer.

In the end, we personally feel the Arsenal boss could be making a big mistake since Aubameyang right now has the capacity of drawing a big transfer fee. And hence the club should just accept that use those funds to rebuild the squad instead of letting the forward move out as a free agent.
