Nicolas Pepe to replace Aubameyang Arsenal EPL
Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan Arsenal news

Pierre Emerick Aubameyang has his sight sets on a move to La Liga giants Barcelona – as per reports.

Aubameyang is without a doubt the biggest star on Arsenal’s roster and right now he’s the club captain as well but all this hasn’t stopped him from trying to move out of the Emirates possibly when his current deal expires.

The Gabon international joined Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund in January of 2018 and his current contract with the Gunners expires in 2021.

While the Gunners are eager to tie him down to a new deal it seems like the player has postponed the talks since he wants to explore other options before committing to a new deal.

Right now there are two major reasons as to why Aubameyang is not too keen to put pen on paper on a new deal at Arsenal.

The first one is that the forward wants to wait until the end of the season to see if the club can get back into the Champions League next season.

Any big player wants to ply his trade in the top tier of European football and the Gabon international is no different which is why if Arsenal cannot qualify for the Champions League then surely the player will look for other options.

Another major reason why Aubameyang has postponed contract talks is that he wants to hear if Barcelona actually want to sign him before he carries his talks with Arsenal any further.

Barcelona have previously shown interest in signing the forward and if they are still keen to make a move then most certainly, he will not commit his future to the North London club.

But one major problem for Auba is that right now he is 30 years old and so a move to Barcelona would have to happen during the next summer transfer window.

Because once his contract ends in 2021, the forward will be 32 years old and we are pretty sure, Barcelona will not be too eager to bring in on board at that point in time.
