Jose Mourinho Spurs Premier League

Jose Mourinho has been appointed as the new Tottenham Hotspur manager and it seems the Portuguese has already fired shots at some of his former employers.

Back in 2015, Mourinho had famously said that he would never join Spurs because he loved the Chelsea fans too much.

But all those promises have now vapourised especially since the manager has been without a club ever since he was sacked by Manchester United last December.

Much like his other jobs, his time at Old Trafford was also marred by controversies including a fall-out with Paul Pogba.

So naturally, when Jose Mourinho took charge of Spurs, everyone was eagerly waiting as to when he would take a dig at his former clubs.

And thankfully he did not disappoint as in his very first interview, he chose to fire shots at both Chelsea as well as Manchester United by hinting that Spurs had a better squad and also a better structure as compared to the other sides.

“Looking at the young players, there is not one manager in the world that doesn’t like to play young players. There is not one,” Mourinho said[as reported].

“The problem is sometimes you get into clubs where the work that is below you is not good enough to produce these players.

“I look to our history and you see that the academy is always giving players to the first team and I look forward to working with that profile.

“I am excited to be joining a club with such a great heritage and such passionate supporters.

“The quality in both the squad and the academy excites me. Working with these players is what has attracted me.”

Jose Mourinho had already turned Judas for the Chelsea fans when he took charge of Manchester United and now it seems like he’s also rubbed the United fans the wrong way.

Next month, Spurs take on both Manchester United as well as Chelsea in the Premier League and it will be interesting to see how his former faithful react.

Fun fact: The Chelsea fans are already planning to replace ‘The Special One’ banner dedicated to Jose Mourinho with an identical one praising the current boss Frank Lampard.
