Nicolas Pepe to replace Aubameyang Arsenal EPL
Aubameyang and Mkhitaryan Arsenal news

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been tipped to leave Arsenal at the end of the season and right now he is wanted by a number of big clubs.

The player has one more year left on his current deal and Arsenal are finding it really challenging to make him agree to a new deal, primarily due to his big wage demands.

And hence various reports have claimed the Gunners will try and cash in on him despite Arteta hinting that they will do everything to hold onto him.

But now Gabon Football Association’s president Pierre Alain Mounguengui has suggested that Aubameyang needs to head out of Arsenal and join a club who are more ambitious.

“I don’t want to say that Arsenal aren’t ambitious, but Arsenal don’t have ambitions as high as some other clubs as far as Europe is concerned,” Mounguengui told ESPN.

“So if Pierre could secure a contract with a more ambitious club, he’d definitely find his place there.

“On an individual level, we all consider him to be among the best players in the world, but the advice I give to him is to continue to work and to attract the attention of the biggest clubs and the most ambitious clubs.

“Aubameyang is a world-class player but for him, or anyone else in Europe who hasn’t won a major honour, football is a collective sport.

“Right now, he’s at Arsenal, and he’s won nothing here, so it’s a collective failing.”

This statement will really infuriate the Arsenal management who are desperate to hold onto Aubameyang and make him sign a new deal.

But with each passing day, it seems like Arsenal will not be able to keep the forward at the Emirates not only because he has a massive wage demand but also because wants to play in the Champions League.

As things stand right now, Arsenal will not be getting back into the Champions League next season and it could easily take them a couple of more seasons before they are once again ready to mingle with the big boys.

So in our opinion, it would be wise for Arteta to sell Aubameyang off in the summer and use that money to bring in an apt replacement for the Gabon international.
