Bruno Fernandes has been on the transfer radar of Manchester United for a couple of months now but now it seems Barcelona too have entered the race to sign him – reportedly.

Speaking after Sporting’s win over Maritimo, Silas had said that there’s still a chance that the midfielder could be on his way out this month.

“I cannot confirm that it was his last game,” Silas said after Sporting’s victory.

“I would like him to stay, but I can’t say whether he stays or not.

“I would like to count on him at least until the end of the season. Bruno is a different player. He started to play in the front, we moved him further back.

“He sees things that nobody sees – diagonal movements, long passes. Being further back and seeing these movements, the opposing line drops further, because he starts making passes.

“Any team in Portugal that had Bruno and lost him would suffer. We will resent it if we lose him. If we do, we will have to look for solutions.”

And while Man United were the only club linked with Bruno Fernandes up until now, fresh reports are suggesting that Barcelona have also made a move to sign the player and the Catalans are willing to meet the demands of Sporting Lisbon.

As per reports in Spain, Barcelona plan to sign Bruno Fernandes and loan him out to Valencia with hopes of using him as a counterweight in trying to bring Rodrigo Moreno to the Camp Nou from Valencia.

While not much has been known about the seriousness of the interest but one thing’s for sure, if Barcelona decide to take interest in Fernandes then it will be very difficult for Manchester United to get their hands on him before deadline day.
