Pedro has seen very little football for Chelsea under their new manager Frank Lampard and it looks like he could be on his way out this month – as per reports.

On Sunday, Frank Lampard had said that Pedro very much remains part of his plan at Chelsea season claiming: “Pedro is part of my plans.

“We started the season and he was in the team but then, unfortunately, he got injured at Norwich before the game and was then out for a while.

“I do have competition in that area so he’s played a few games here and there but I know he wants to play more and I get that.

“He certainly has something that he can contribute to us, with his experience and his ability to break lines, run behind people and maybe get those goals in and around the box. We need everybody because football can change very quickly.”

But now it seems like the winger could very well be on his way out of the club with reports claiming Serie A side AS Roma are interested in signing the player this transfer window.

Di Marzio which is a pretty reliable source of information claimed in a report: “The contacts with Chelsea for Pedro remain alive and in the last few days there have been some expressions of interest in a return of Stephan El Shaarawy.”

So far during the 2019-20 season, Pedro has played only 12 matches for Chelsea with only five of them coming in the Premier League and right now he is way below the pecking order under Lampard.

And these few appearances have made it pretty clear that Pedro is not part of Lampard’s long-term plans at the club and it’s more or less certain he will not be given a new deal at the club.

The winger will be a free agent at the end of the current season so instead of letting him leave for free, it would be much wise of the Blues to get a transfer fee for him in case AS Roma are seriously interested in signing him.

But having said that, the Chelsea manager would want to bring in a replacement before sanctioning an exit for the Spaniard.
