Liverpool might suffer their biggest loss to Barcelona since the Catalans took away Philippe Coutinho at the start of the new year.

According to the latest reports, Barcelona are out in the market looking for the new striker and the La Liga outfit are planning a raid on Anfield.

As per Spanish journalist Eduardo Inda – the director of news outlet Ok Diario, Barcelona have their eyes fixed on Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino and are planning to make a move at the end of the season.

Inda said“It’s about Firmino, Liverpool player,

“I already said that Luis Suarez is seen increasingly stubborn and they are considering doing the same operation as Coutinho.

“But I guess at the end of the season, not halfway through.”

Roberto Firmino joined Liverpool in 2015 and under Jurgen Klopp, the Brazilian is now an integral part of the famed Liverpool attacking trio.

Last season, Roberto Firmino scored a staggering 27 goals in 54 games for the Reds and this season he has already racked up 3 goals in 11 games.

The report does not mention if Barcelona are looking at Roberto Firmino as a direct replacement to Luis Suarez but the 31-year-old’s form has been dipping with each passing season.

So it would not be a surprise if the La Liga outfit are planning a straight swap.

Initial reports are claiming that Liverpool have no interest in selling off Roberto Firmino but then again they said the same thing when Barcelona came calling for Philippe Coutinho.

If Liverpool do decide to sell Roberto Firmino, then surely they can squeeze out a hefty amount from the transfer given the Brazilian’s contract at Anfield expires in 2023.
