Brendan Rodgers Leicester City

Brendan Rodgers has been unveiled as the new manager of Premier League side Leicester City and this move has come as a real shock for the Celtic fans.

Brendan Rodgers had the opportunity to win multiple silverware with the Bhoys this season but he chose to leave it all and head to Leicester – a club which are performing averagely in the Premier League.

While the departure of their highly successful manager has certainly sent shockwaves across the Celtic fanbase but if reports are to be believed then Brendan Rodgers has no plans of slowing down.

According to the Times(via the Scotsman), Rodgers is planning to sign Celtic duo Callum McGregor and James Forrest during the summer transfer window.

Brendan Rodgers is yet to chalk out a definitive transfer plan for the Foxes but the reports suggest that the former Celtic manager will be going after these two players at the end of the season.

Callum McGregor has come up through the ranks at Celtic and this season, the attacking midfielder has played 26 games in the Premiership – scoring three goals and providing nine assists.

James Forrest too has shone brightly for the Bhoys on the right-hand side of midfielder and up until now, the 27-year-old has clocked up 10 assists and nine goals in just 24 Premiership games.

Mcgregor is out of contract in 2023 while Forrest’s deal expires in 2022 but given the opportunity to once again work with Brendan Rodgers alongside the limelight of the Premier League, it looks like the Bhoys will have a really tough time to hold onto these two talents.

The report suggests that Celtic would be charging £15 million for Callum McGregor and £10 million for James Forrest which to be very honest should not be a big issue for Brendan Rodger’s Leicester City.
