Rangers FC forward Alfredo Morelos has claimed that he is likely to leave the club at the end of the season.

Alfredo Morelos has been the subject of interest from many top European clubs during the past year but up until now, the Gers have been able to hold onto him.

This season, the Colombian has scored 23 goals and provided 10 assists in just 38 games for Rangers and this fine form has brought in even more attention.

A couple of Spanish clubs were interested in signing Alfredo Morelos in January of this year and now the forward has claimed that he is likely to head for the exit door at the end of the season.

Alfredo Morelos said: “There are many teams interested in me and a lot of them have watched me play.

“Most likely my transfer will be this summer.

“With the amount of goals I have scored, I know it has been noticed by European clubs.

“I have always said I would like to play in the English Premier League.

“But my initial aim is to play in the Copa America this summer, which has always been a dream of mine. My mentality is that I have to keep working hard to get a place in the squad.

“The Scottish league is a very physical one, but it’s at a very high level. Obviously, Rangers and Celtic are the biggest teams there.

“And for me, it’s great to have Steven Gerrard as my manager. I have learned so much from him.

“At Rangers, I am gaining experience, improving and I’m happy.”

There is very little chance that Rangers will be able to hold onto Alfredo Morelos beyond the summer but in Jermain Defoe, Gerrard has managed to rope in a very apt replacement.

And now the only thing left for the manager to do, is to bring in a like-to-like replacement for Alfredo Morelos during the summer transfer window.
